Mutual Respect Policy
At Ally Pet Medical Center, we are committed to providing the highest quality care for your beloved pets. Our dedicated team of veterinary professionals takes pride in their work, and we aim to create a safe and respectful environment for both our clients and our staff. In order to maintain this standard of care, we have established a policy that outlines the mutual respect necessary to operate effectively.
Because the veterinary field has one of the highest suicide and burnout rates among professions, at Ally Pet Medical Center, we must prioritize the mental well-being of all our team members. To support mental and physical safety, enabling us to operate at our peak for you and your pets, we require all clients to treat our entire team with mutual respect and compassion, just as we treat you and your pets with compassion and care. The following behaviors will not be tolerated:
- Verbal or physical abuse
- Disruptive behavior
- Profanity or disrespect
- Intimidation tactics or making threats
- Emotional blackmail
- Allowing your pet to intimidate or threaten another person or pet
- Discriminatory comments or actions
- Failure to comply with the requests of our staff, including leashing/restraining your pet
- Any form of harassment
We believe that fostering a mutually respectful relationship is essential for the well-being of your pet(s) and the success of our clinic. Failure to comply with the mutual respect policy may result in the termination of your relationship with Ally Pet Medical Center. Our commitment to providing a safe and respectful environment for all clients and staff members require us to take such measures in order to uphold our high standard of care.
Please know that we are always here to address any concerns or questions you may have. Should you have any questions about this policy or any other aspect of our service, please feel free to discuss them with our team. If you would like more information regarding the national mental-health crisis in the veterinary field, we encourage you to visit Not One More Vet at www.nomv.org.
Appointment Policy
Our goal is to provide quality, individualized medical care in a timely manner. No-shows, late arrivals, and cancellations inconvenience others who need access to veterinary care. We ask that you respect our schedule and understand that medical care can be unpredictable.
- We allow a 10-minute grace period for doctor’s appointments. If you are more than 10 minutes late, you may be asked to reschedule.
- If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, we request you do so with at least 24 hours notice so that other patients can receive care.
- Repeat no-shows or last-minute cancellations may require that we obtain a nonrefundable deposit to hold future doctor’s appointments.
Appointment Deposits
Some appointments may require a deposit at the time of booking:
- New clients: there is a non-refundable deposit equal to the cost of the exam for new clients booking an appointment. The deposit will be applied to the first visit. The deposit is forfeited should the client cancel or no-show to the appointment.
- Specialist Appointments: there is a $250 non-refundable deposit to book a specialist appointment (cardiology or radiology). The deposit will be deducted from the charges at the time of the appointment. The deposit is forfeited should the appointment be missed or cancelled less than 48 hours before the appointment.
- International Health Certificates: there is a non-refundable research fee for clients wishing to retain our services to aid with international travel. This fee is charged to cover the administrative and preparatory work undertaken by our team in advance of your appointment. Once the fee has been paid and the research done, initial travel consultations may be booked per the veterinarian’s direction.
